GammonZone Tournament Information

GammonZone points are earned in every tournament we run, as shown below.  

Tournaments are awarded bonus points on a sliding scale based on match length, and roughly correspond to the same point value per time invested in the playing of the matches. (ie., 3 point matches earn 2 GammonZone points, 7 point matches earn 4 GammonZone points, etc.)  

If your player name is spelled incorrectly, please let us know via email.  If you have previously played under various nicknames and wish to combine those points under one name, please send email requesting this one-time-only change.  

You must play under the name you want the points and ratings recorded.  For more information about this please see our Policies pages.  GammonZone does NOT allow more than one individual to play or earn points on one player nickname.

Grand Slam Series

  • Gold Medallion  Single elimination, Open division best 3-of-5 11 to 15 point matches,  Limited division restricted by ratings; progressive Consolations.
  • Life Masters'    Single elimination, 21 to 25 point matches, progressive Consolation, entry limited to GammonZone Life Masters and Honorary Members.
  • Master Cup    Single elimination, best 3-of-5 11 to 15 point matches,  progressive Consolation.
  • Director's Invitational    Single elimination, best 3-of-5 11 to 15 point matches,  progressive Consolation; entry by GammonZone Director's invitation only
  • Gold Points for all the Grand Slams and the Crystal Cup will be adjusted on a per-tournament basis based on player entries. The more players, the more Gold Points.

* Bonus points for 7 point tournaments may be slightly reduced for smaller fields.
GammonZone Policy awards GammonZone points to the GammonZone Host in recognition of the time spent hosting (as opposed to playing).  Claiming the host points is up to the individual host, and the scale is as follows:  2 points for co-hosting, 4 points for hosting a regular tournament, 6 points for hosting as a sub, and 8 points for hosting a Tournament of Champions or Gammon Cup.  Hosts of web-based tournaments (such as Medallion series, League, Rumble, Escalera or Grand Slam series tournaments) are awarded points consistent with the time commitment required by the event.
